Take Action

ECO has advanced its working group system to assist our work on environmental issues, to provide for more input by Members and Friends and for better collaboration with other groups.

ECO has been centrally involved in campaigns to protect native forests, lakes, and rivers, the reform of the Mining Act and defeat of the National Development Act, and in supporting the Resource Management Act and the establishment of the Department of Conservation and Ministry for the Environment.

There are a number of ways you can support ECO. One of the most important of which is by getting behind the issues we are working on. Efforts by individuals raising their concerns with MPs, through letters to newspaper editors, by ringing talkback radio, writing submissions are vitally important to improving the way the environment is treated
